PhaseIIFace Partners – Business Development Services
and BIOnetworks for the Life Science and Healthcare Industries
Confidential Experienced Reliable
P2F was set up in 2008 by Simon Youlton to provide short to medium
term business and intellectual property services to further innovations
for investment in the life science and healthcare industries.
Combining entrepreneurial acumen and technology transfer skills
with an indepth knowledge of patent prosecution, infringement and
examination/opposition and contract and company law, Simon focuses
on the issues that are relevant but tangential to the scientific
community. Simon has built this expertise within life science companies
and whilst working for medical institutes in the UK and across Europe
over the last 25 years. Simon has built a network of colleagues
and associates in both the scientific community and within technology
transfer to call upon where beneficial (under strict confidence).
Having managed teams both within business development in industry
and within technology transfer in academia,
it is apparent there is no substitute for experience and the resultant
evolution of one’s social and business networks. Unfortunately
in the modern world people rarely stay in one place for long. This
can leave companies and organisations with temporary vacuums in
resource and expertise.
As well as providing an introduction to projects
currently being worked on, current licensing
& collaboration opportunities for industry and services
that P2F can provide directly, the purpose of this site is also
to function as a confidential portal and BIOnetwork for other independent
experts who are prepared to provide expertise in reviewing projects
and facilitating the coming together of synergistic partners and
investors and technology.
The BIOnetwork is an open forum
for posting non-confidential information and queries for the life
science and tech transfer community.
There are projects that can be contracted to P2F that require formal
due diligence which can be outsourced to those with the relevant
expertise and scientists, clinicians, and business development executives
can submit their profiles
to be called upon for paid work.
The Pharma Licensing Club
is a novel business forum for Pharma Licensing Executives to join
and with the agreement of their respective companies to submit non-confidential
abstracts of pre-clinical and clinical licensing opportunities which
will be anonymised for others of their peers to review. Once a year
P2F will organise closed workshops where such opportunities can
be discussed in depth. Thus P2F provides an independent forum for
Pharma to test the market and gain useful insight on how their non-core
assets will be perceived as out-licensing opportunities. It also
gives Execs the opportunity to cross-fertilise due diligence and
review skills and models.
Finally without a fertile germination bed of new biotech start-ups,
the European Biotechnology industry will starve. In the present
financial climate it is no longer possible for opportunistic business
plans with little commercial due diligence and no input from external
experienced management to get off the ground. The ‘funding
gap’ between Seed and Series A funding continues to widen
into a canyon and the world is becoming more risk averse. However
European science continues to provide exciting ideas for tomorrows
medicines and diagnostics, and these ideas need to be leveraged
in to products and services. F2P is just one of many specialist
websites where such expertise can be sought and brought to play
on a temporary and low risk basis to help founders and investors
alike.
Working within the Life Sciences field continues to be one of the
most promising fields to work in and has proven its worth being
the font of the worlds most innovative products and will continue
to amaze us all at its versatility and potential.
“I look forward to a continued contribution to and
promotion of these exciting projects. Whatever your reasons for
visiting I hope you find what you are looking for and would be
happy to help”
Simon Youlton, Senior Partner.
